Bridgnorth Cricket Club prides itself on its Junior Cricket section. For over 30 years we have invited children to the club and provided them with a consistent, quality and safe environment in which to play and enjoy the game.
For 2020 we are running eight junior age-group sides: U10s, U11s, U13 A & B, & U15s for boys, and U11s, U13s & U15s for girls. They all compete in the East Shropshire Cricket League as well as the County Cup Knockout competitions.
We pride ourselves in consistently producing players to represent the Club in District and County sides.
For 12 weeks during the season we run the ECB All Stars and Dynamos Cricket national coaching programmes, providing fun ways to learn the game of cricket from 5 years old.
We also run high-skill net and one-to-one coaching sessions for our junior age group sides, which are led by one of our Shropshire Cricket Board Excellence Coaches. The club is proud to have a number of ECB-qualified coaches, who give their time freely to the development of youth cricket.
As part of our clubmark accreditation all coaches have attended child protection courses, first aid courses and are fully qualified ECBCA coaches, ensuring the sport can be coached in the safest atmosphere and at the highest level. This does not affect the ethos "enjoy the sport, play the sport".
The club has two welfare officers and is committed to the ECB policies of 'safe hands'.
CHAIR OF JUNIOR CRICKET: Stuart Ward
