Neve Crann became the first female Bridgnorth cricketer to take a five wicket haul in a senior league game on Saturday for the 3rd XI at Much Wenlock. An outstanding spell of five wickets for just six runs off three overs saw the hosts collapse from 140-4 to 146 all out. Four wickets were clean bowled, all of which came in a quadruple wicket maiden to stun the home side.
Fellow talented youngsters Issy Crann (2-18) and Issy Wedgbury (1-21) also starred with the ball in their first full seasons playing senior cricket, sharing eight wickets between them as records tumbled.
Unfortunately, the girls’ efforts didn’t result in a win as Bridgnorth were ultimately dismissed for 74 in reply, as they struggled in tricky conditions.
